Senior Officer (Clinical Psychology) in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences (Appointment for 12 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. T/067/26]

Job Descriptions

The project of CityUHK Community Healing Hubs is funded by China Hongqiao Group Limited. Guided by the theory of social prescribing, the Project aims to provide a one-stop physical, mental, social and spiritual wellness support for families and people who are affected by the fire in Tai Po. Apart from a professional team with expertise in clinical psychology, social work, and counselling which offers intensive grief and trauma informed practice, the Hubs also train community link workers to listen and connect families and people to activities, groups, and community resources that heal and address their needs. With the care, support and connection of the community, families and people can live the best lives as they can and grow in confidence.

 

The appointee will report to the Principal Investigators and work closely with other team members and collaborating parties of the Project. Main duties include to:

 

Duties

  1. Provide intensive mental and emotional support, grief and trauma informed practice for families and people who are affected by the fire in Tai Po; 
  2. Deliver individual and group-based support services to students, parents and school personnels of primary and secondary schools in Tai Po;    
  3. Provide train-the-trainers programmes for school and helping professionals;
  4. Conduct territory-wide workshops and seminars on people’s mental and emotional wellness, and post/traumatic stress management; and   
  5. Perform any other duties as assigned. 

 

The appointee will work at the Hubs in Tai Po and be required to work irregular hours (including weekday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) on a need basis.

 

Requirements

  1. A Master’s degree with post-qualification working experience in Clinical Psychology from a Hong Kong University, or equivalent;
  2. Rich professional knowledge in practicing Grief and Bereavement Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Positive Psychology or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy;
  3. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
  4. Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment, self-motivation with a strong sense of responsibility; and ability to work independently and effectively in a team are required.
  5. Preference will be given to candidates who are members of the Register of Clinical Psychologists accredited by the Department of Health, and/or the Division of Clinical Psychology, Hong Kong Psychological Society.

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
